Announcing the First Annual Essay Competition
Please alert your CUNY students to this essay competition sponsored by the Eighteenth-Century Reading Room.
First Prize $500
Second Prize $300
Third Prize $200
This essay competition is open to all undergraduate and masters CUNY students of any discipline.
Requirements:
- Research should center on at least two resources housed in the Eighteenth-Century Reading Room
- Essays must be eight to ten pages in length (double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman) and properly cited according to MLA or Chicago standards
- Submissions are due in the Reading Room by May 25, 2006, by regular mail, email, or hand delivery.
- Essays that have fulfilled a classroom assignment as well as the above requirements are eligible.
Prize winners will be honored at a fall 2006 reception in the Reading Room and their essays will be published on this blog.
